The aim was to create a space that blends comfort with openness, without compromising the personal and task privacy of employees and other building users. The custom modular carpet was generated using a Luxury textured platform combined with ConvergenceTM technology to bring together slubs of different textures and lustre with detailed design creating an interplay of texture and colour. Upon a founding texture, Milliken Contract’s exclusive ConvergenceTM digitally places both colour and pattern so that all three elements of design work in complete harmony. The custom carpet used throughout the office space was chosen in a custom grey colourway with its quality of texture and appearance helping to reflect the corporate ideals of Baker Tilly. “Milliken’s Interval base cloth hit the nail on the head when it came to aesthetics, texture and quality,” comments Tony Healey, Senior Designer, TSK Group. “Combined with Drill in a citrus green and striking orange, both carpets work in symbiosis to create a feel good workspace. We needed to combine areas of the facility together to fit in with the brief for an interior that reflected the Hardman Street office as model of open corporate ambition and the position of Baker Tilly within the financial sector.” The custom Design Request carpet created for the Baker Tilly project proved so effective in-situ it will soon become part of the standard product line-up within the Consequence collection. Entitled Upshot, the design will feature Milliken Contract’s proprietary Comfort Plus2® backing and employ the D-Stain protection system to ensure appearance retention. Drill is part of Milliken Contract’s high performance loop pile ensemble and thanks to the popularity of its variable stripe created through Millitron® imaging technology, it has found widespread appeal in many commercial office environments. Manufactured in Antron® carpet fibre for resilience, the performance loop pile features Milliken’s Comfort Plus2® backing that features 85% recycled polyurethane foam. With the addition of the Stainsmart protection system, the vivid colours of Drill used at Baker Tilly will remain visibly brighter for longer.
