The modules are based on two thin but durable aluminium sections; one is bent along a radius of 1200 mm. By using different combinations of curved and straight luminaire modules, the only limitation to the design is the size of the room. There are three different mounting options for the modules – suspended, surface or wall mounted – all adding yet another dimension to the design.
With Freedom particular attention was paid towards toning down the technical solutions for the enhancement of aesthetics, by making the connections between the modules and terminating end caps discrete and a more efficient power supply, with just one power feed being able to cover up to six modules. Each wire can carry multiple modules and so this contributes to an even purer expression when the luminaire is suspended.
Freedom sets itself as the luminaire that is not only a decorative solution but provides a full general lighting solution in its own right. LED is the key factor to the design of Freedom but great emphasis has also been placed on the lighting technology. By a combination of an innovative internal reflector and opal diffuser an even output is achieved but without glare or a harsh blinding light.
