Tempest is suitable as a big conference table, modular meeting table, low lounge table or a high bar table. The benchmark flip-top mechanism is beautiful and rock solid, providing outstanding stability. In addition, the elegant elliptical leg-design with a concealed castor solution and the multi-directional linking system make Tempest easy to handle for just one person, simply and effortlessly just "wheel-barrow" the table around and save valuable space by flipping the table tops when not in use.
Tempest is a multi-purpose mobile flip-top table system that is suitable for eating, meeting and training and conferencing applications. The T-leg design permits maximum seating capacity around the entire perimeter. Tempest ables can be nested when not in use.
TABLETOP
25 mm chipboard when surface is veneer, laminate or melamine.
25 mm MDF when surface is linoleum.
40 mm abacia when 40 mm tabletop thickness is chosen.
VENEER VERSION
Natural or stained wood veneer. 0.6 mm knife-cut sanded veneer on both sides. Total thickness of 26.2 mm. Standard finishes comes in maple, beech, oak, cherry, ash, birch, and walnut as well as stained in black, walnut, and white.
LAMINATE VERSION
Coloured or wood grain laminates. 0.8 mm laminate on both sides. Total thickness of 26.6 mm. Standard coloured laminates are HOWE grey, grey, black and white and any Formica Colour System colour available. Standard wood grain laminates are maple, beech, oak, cherry, walnut and Punga Punga (wengé).
MELAMINE VERSION
Melamine surface on both sides. Total thickness of 25 mm. Standard melamine finishes are white, HOWE grey, grey, maple, beech, oak and walnut.
LINOLEUM VERSION
Linoleum surface (Forbo Desktop) on top and light brown paper on backside. Total thickness of 26.6 mm. Standard colour is black. Any Forbo Desktop colour is available.
EDGES
Standard options include:

Round uprights and elliptical feet. Steel quality Norm DIN 2394 with Fe content of 97-98%. Foot end caps in dye cast zinc.
T-legs:
Ø45 x 2.0 mm gauge on upright tube and 50 x 25 x 2.0 mm gauge on elliptical foot.
TT-legs:
Ø45 x 2.0 mm gauge on upright tube and 50 x 25 x 2.0 mm gauge on elliptical foot.
S-legs:
Ø45 x 1.5 mm gauge on upright tube and 50 x 25 x 2.0 mm gauge on elliptical foot.
S3-legs:

All Tempest feet are supported with an inner tube dim. 20 x 20 x 2.0 mm gauge to assure strength. Base finish comes in chrome (20-50 μ), satin chrome (20-50 μ) and black, HOWE grey or aluminium coloured powder coating (40-100 μ).
Two adjustable glides and two castors as standard in order to manoeuvre and trans¬port tables easily from area to area. Glides and castors are in plastic (POM). The glides are adjustable up to 10 mm.
The flip-top mechanism on T-style tables is a spring assisted butterfly mechanism in die cast aluminium, coated in aluminium colour. The beam is in 50 x 50 x 4.0 mm gauge steel tube coated in aluminium colour, steel quality 235. The flip-top mecha¬nism on S-style tables is a clamshell in die cast aluminium, coated black.
The hinges are connected to the beam and provides easy noiseless flipping of the tabletop. The hinges are in die cast alluminium, coated in aluminium colour.
Sub components are in HOWE grey plastic material. Wedges on tabletop in PA6. Protection bumpers on butterfly arms in PA6.
VARIETIES
FOLDING MECHANISM
The Tempest table is also available with folding mechanism. The folding mecha¬nism is user-intuitive and rigorously engineered. Subframe is 35 x 23 x 3.0 mm gauge, painted black. Big size Tempest tables with double T leg design are always with folding mechanism.
DEMOUNTABLE LEG OPTION (FIXED LEGS)
Tempest tables are available with fixed, demountable legs. For any special requirements, the leg positioning can be designed to specific configurations. With help from the pre-inserted bushes, the legs can be moved around at site and have the double function as a linking device. A lower cost option for compatible design. The Top & Leg system has concealed castors at one end for ease of mobility.
STACKING CAPACITY
Flipped tables have a nesting depth of 130 mm. Flip the tops and nest the tables inside each other tops against tops. 6 tables can be stacked on table transporter. The folding table (normal fold) folds within 113 mm. 5 folding tables can be stacked on table transporter.
