PICTURE THOSE walls telling us stories, sharing the thoughts of previous designers, and conveying the emotions that people have felt through the years. From the nervous excitement of a first day at work – the walls alive with the energy of new beginnings – to the warmth of family gatherings in a restaurant – where laughter and love intertwine – these structures have witnessed it all.

In a world where technology and artificial intelligence are trying to carve a new way of design, why aren’t we listening to our current buildings? We should embrace their stories, woven into every brick and beam, and learn from them. As a designer, storytelling is at the heart of what I do. What better way to convey a narrative than by listening to the original author – the building itself – and ensuring that these stories are passed on for generations to come?
