The designer has incorporated the clients’ wishes and accentuated the existing elements in the home while redesigning the kitchen. The design inspiration came from a Noguchi coffee table that the clients have in their living room. The original kitchen was short of storage and style. To offer enough of it, Pike used a contemporary color palette and material inspiration from a Noguchi coffee table.

The client’s love for glass, clean lines and wood has been used as the design theme for cabinetry and finish choices. A long island on casters was created to include some necessary storage and food preparation/serving options for the clients.

The remodeled kitchen features white, glass-front frameless cabinetry for the wall cabinets. The same white glass is also used in a bulkhead that meets the ceiling. The perimeter base cabinetry is a dark stained walnut. The island is also walnut in a lighter stain, which helps in highlighting the grain pattern. All countertops in the kitchen are Hanwha’s HanStone in white. The backsplash and feature wall are clad in Carrera marble tiles featuring a herringbone pattern.

Pike also worked on the home’s living and dining areas and hallway and powder room, keeping the color palette consistent throughout. A small seating area is featured within the kitchen for guests to relax.

Pike’s remodeled kitchen fits seamlessly with the age of the home, as well as the existing style of other rooms and the lifestyle of the homeowners. The kitchen displays a fresh, clean style without compromising on the functional aspects. The three-month renovation project has also addressed the family’s desire to create ample space and enabled de-cluttering of the space.
