The hotel is the first privately-developed, full-service hotel to be built in 27 years.
The hotel will feature 262 luxury suites, about 6,000 feet meeting space, a rooftop swimming pool, spa, fitness center, restaurant, café and wine bar.
The new hotel will be located adjacent to the Hilton Americas hotel and the George R. Brown Convention Center, overlooking Houston’s new Discovery Green Park, a 13-acre downtown oasis for recreation and entertainment.
The ceremonial ground-breaking event will take place on May 26 at the site and construction is expected to be completed in early 2011.
