The civic body has already received a grant for the project from Gujarat Municipal Finance Board (GMFB). Now the outdoor sports complex has also received a boost from the corporation with the new agency coming on board. The indoor complex will come up in the region of Sama, and an outdoor facility in Manjalpur, Vadodara.
The newly appointed agency will offer services such as planning and structural designs for the project. The agency will also provide detailed estimates, tendering, and will decide on contractors.
The outdoor sports complex will feature facilities for athletics, football, hockey, lawn tennis, and a gymnasium, as well as Indian sports such as kabaddi and kho-kho. The indoor stadium is designed to house facilities for table tennis, basketball, badminton, volleyball, swimming and a shooting range.
The project is expected to reach completion by 2010.
