La Palmera officials have plans to incorporate the coastal theme to the mall by removing the roof of the front entrance and allowing certain stores to remain outside the mall. This will complement to Corpus Christi as the place is famous for beaches.

Work on a new food court and an aquatic themed children’s area along with changes in the center court rest area have already begun. La Palmera marketing director Amie Danie said that the center court area will be renovated with skylights, water features, and a coffee bar. A 20 foot diameter water feature will also be installed in the center court.

La Palmera will add a dozen of new stores, including the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop while a18,000 square feet expansion is planned for Marcy’s, a departmental store, to allow easier access to the store and mall.
