Co-owner and interior designer Laurent Nurisso has created the two-level shop on Kingsland Road. They are seeking furniture and product designers to contribute pieces to the new store, which is edgier than their first shop.
The store proposes to exhibit larger furniture items and lighting designed by different designers. The display furniture will also include a mix of galvanized metal shelves and old wooden cabinets.
The store is considerably bigger than the first, with two floors totaling about 85 square meters. The outlet is built in a former Victorian factory and has two exposed brick walls, a fireplace and both high and low ceilings.
The new store is to have a chipboard floor, and Nurisso is painting an entire wall with magnetic blackboard paint. This is to be used as a mood board to which both staff and customers will contribute. Fluorescent lighting in yellow and white plastic sleeves has been made use of as the lighting medium.
Nurisso and co-owner Curtis plan to incorporate the new store design into their first shop later this year. Nurisso is also considering launching Lifestyle Bazaar-branded products and create glassware or porcelain.
Lifestyle Bazaar’s first store is located near Carnaby Street, and opened 18 months ago. The store stocks furniture and homeware from designers including Black & Blum, Gianluca Slodi, Edition Compagnie and Kartell.
