The renovated 99-room hotel décor will have the feel of a Parisian apartment. Known for its unique ‘nooks and crannies’, intimate spaces where guests can gather privately and discreetly to discuss business or personal matters, the Jefferson will retain the old style and include 20 suites.
The Plume restaurant with iron gates will have two rooms off of the restaurant, for two to three-person meetings. The Quill lounge of the hotel will feature a solid glass bar lit from the inside with apricot hues.
To do justice to the name of the hotel, nearly every aspect of the renovation is related in some way to Jefferson, the third US President in history. With custom-made draperies and linens featuring a Monticello design, and books in the hotel’s library selected from Jefferson’s era and hobbies, the hotel reflects another era.
The hotel has also created its own eco-friendly cleaning products such as chips inside room service carts to alert them when the carts need to be collected from the hallway.
The introductory room rates of the renovated hotel are estimated at $380 to $450, with rates in peak seasons inching toward $450 to $650. High-end suites could cost as much as $850 per night, says Franck Arnold, the general manager of the hotel.
The exact cost of the project has not been disclosed, says Erik Grazetti, the marketing director of the hotel.
