KBL President Walter Zich said that the renovations on the former Leath Furniture location at 107 S Mall Drive were already in progress. The new KBL center would replace the existing KBL store at nearby Auto Row in Bloomington.
Zich also said that the design center operating in Peoria, which was about 9,000 square feet, was not enough, and that the KBL center at the new location, would have about 21,000 square feet.
The company’s twin city location, specializing in lighting, bath and kitchen designs had opened in 2004, and now KBL is now relocating to Shoppes of College Hills, which after its renovation in 2005, has become an attractive shopping center. Zich said that the new location would expand KBL’s kitchen and bath departments, put more emphasis on patio and fireplace and boost selections of specialty furniture and artwork. KBL would be a tenant of Wells Land.
KBL Design Center is a one-stop shop for all needs related to cabinetry, fireplace, and lighting. KBL has four design outlets at Illinois, making it Central Illinois’s premier design center.
