Cape Town International Airport is the second-largest airport in South Africa and the third-largest in Africa. The new five-story terminal, which is currently 90% complete, will be open on November 7, 2009.

The new terminal features 120 check-in counters, 20 self-service check-in machines, eight air bridges and 11 bus gates. The facility is installed with an automated baggage sorting system. The ground floor of the terminal features two subways for the smooth movement of pedestrians on the airport’s new arrivals level.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place June 11-July 11, 2010 in South Africa.
