The new Timber Wall wood curtain wall system has been creatively designed to accommodate all design conditions, may they be vertical, sloped, or integrated vertical and sloped. Thermally-broken aluminum profiles and positive drainage principles make the Timber Wall a high performing green alternative when compared to traditional curtain wall systems.
Energy efficient and attractive, Solar Innovations uses the durable and everlasting aluminum exterior to maintain the warmth and beauty of the wood interior. When compared to the traditional solid wood window walls, these wood curtain walls allow for greater spanning capability with the flexibility and strength of the glu-laminate wood.
Solar Innovations’ aluminum glazing system creates a low maintenance barrier to the elements. This is where the Timber Wall gains most of its uncompromised aesthetic design flexibility and thermal performance. The signature weep system of Solar Innovations products allows moisture to run through the aluminum gutters, channeling water away from the curtain wall, effectively limiting any water leakage into the system.
Timber Walls are offered in three different widths – two inch wide wood with two inch wide aluminum profile, two and one half inch or three inch wide wood with two and one half inch aluminum profile, and three inch wide wood with three inch wide aluminum profile. The two inch and two and one half inch Timber Walls are both tested for hurricane applications; a system has been hurricane certified and a five by ten system is in the process of being certified.
Wood species available with Timber Walls are solid Mahogany or Spanish Cedar and glu-laminates of Southern Yellow Pine, Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, and Northern White Pine.
