In her new role, North will direct the Schumacher design staff, oversee all creative aspects of the Schumacher fabric, wall covering and furnishing design, in addition to new product development for the Schumacher brand. North is also responsible for the creative direction of the brand and all aspects of brand image including visual merchandising and will partner with the company’s marketing and sales teams to assist in achieving the Schumacher brand goals.
North, who joined the company in 1997 as director of design of Greeff, one of Schumacher’s fabric and wall covering lines, was promoted to vice president, design, Interior Design Group in 2002, where she was responsible for directing the design staff for Schumacher, Greeff, and Decorators Walk and overseeing the development of fabrics and wall covering for each brand. In April 2007, North was named vice president, design, when the brands were consolidated.
