The new international airport construction project at Vilanculos, Mozambique includes spacious departure lounges for international and domestic flights and a new VIP lounge. Other additions under this project consist of an updated air traffic control system. A separate area for cargo handling will also be constructed at the airport.

Manuel Chaves, director of Management, Traffic and Airports, was reported stating that the airport’s capacity will increase from 75,000 to around 200,000 passengers annually.

Vilanculos airport is the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago. The new terminal will allow visitors a convenient way to reach Bazaruto.
