The enlargement plans include increasing the size of the passenger terminal, the general aviation facilities and the parking lot at Valencia Airport. A new EUR37 million ($50.5 million approx) terminal will be constructed alongside the existing terminal.
The general infrastructure improvement contract at the airport has been awarded to Vias and Construcciones for just over EUR11 million ($15 million approx), and the parking area enlargement contract has been awarded to Dragados for over EUR21 million ($28.6 million approx). The work is expected to commence by April 2010.
Valencia Airport has received a new regional terminal, expanded car parking facilities and apron area in time for the 2007 America’s Cup.
