The renovation has added a dedicated radiology room and updated surgical suite to the clinic facility. The facility has also been equipped with complete blood-work procedures. A separate examination room has been created as an addition to the existing one at the clinic that prevents dogs commissioned by military from coming in contact with pets.

The renovations have also streamlined the kennel area, which now features additional storage space and mechanical room. New lighting has been installed in the clinic as part of the renovation project.

The facility offers services such as full medical and surgical care, including spaying and neutering, vaccinations, micro-chipping, X-rays, and dental prophylaxis.

The primary mission of this veterinary treatment facility is to provide full medical and surgical care to over 50 military working dogs that rotate through YPG each month for training from around the world.

The authorities at the Yuma Proving Ground Veterinary Treatment Facility provide a three-day advanced first aid course every month to the personnel who handle these working dogs. The facility also conducts food inspections at all YPG’s eatery and commissary facilities. The entire project was undertaken by contractors J & J Maintenance.
