Named as AMC Randhurst-12, the 2000-seat theater that will replace the existing 16-plex at Randhurst, will feature comfortable lounge-style seating areas with state-of-the-art 4K digital projection including 3D screens in each auditorium. Live broadcast capabilities will also be available in several auditoriums. Offering a customized food and beverage choice, the theater will be open to the public in May 2011. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on May 18, 2010.
AMC Randhurst-12 will be AMC Theatres’ first LEED-certified theatre incorporating several elements of environmentally sustainable design ranging from the use of locally sourced materials for construction, energy conservation through the use of efficient mechanical systems with no harmful discharge of CFCs into the environment, and water conservation through the use of low-flow fixtures.
Besides AMC Randhurst-12, the regeneration of the currently redundant mall will include Jersey Mike’s, Five Guys, Chipotle Mexican Grill and T Mobile stores.
