The four-bedroom single-story structure spanning 8,000 square feet will be partially buried into the Pennine landscape. The house features zoned, petal-shaped wings which are themed ‘eat’, ‘relax’, ‘entertain’, ‘work’, ‘sleep’ and ‘play’ respectively. The petals are clustered around a central kitchen. A green roof covers most of the building.

The design of this eco-friendly home took more than three years to complete. Gary Neville worked closely with the Make Architects on the scheme which is noted for its resemblance to the Teletubbies – a BBC BAFTA-winning children’s television series featuring four colorful characters.

It would be the first zero carbon house in North West England, if permission is granted.

The planning application for the house has been submitted to Bolton Council planning officials. Members of Bolton Council’s planning committee have insisted on visiting the site before approving the project. The site visit will take place on June 24, 2010 and will take up the zero-carbon proposals for consideration subsequently.
