The new renovation and expansion scheme of the 1929-built Bryant-Denny Stadium will include construction of two upper decks behind both end zones to create a fully closed-in structure. The additional decks are incorporated to allow fans to get a clear visual of the playing field below.

The renovation and expansion which is expected to be completed by late 2010 will increase the maximum stadium capacity to 101,600. The expansion will also make the stadium the fourth-largest collegiate stadium in the country.

The Bryant-Denny Stadium has undergone expansion and renovation seven times. Originally designed by Davis Architects, the design of the stadium has facilitated an easy and economically sound way to undertake expansion schemes.
