The plans, designed by London-based Make Architects will go on display at a public exhibition at the Wembley Plaza Hotel on July 14, 2010. The first details of the next phase of Wembley City, covers 14 acres of land surrounding the new Brent Civic Centre, to the west of Olympic Way.

Besides 1,300 homes centered around a new community park, the scheme as proposed by Quintain Estates includes new shops, hotel space, student accommodation and affordable workspace within a total development quantum of up to 160,000 square meters. There will also be major improvements to Olympic Way which will be transformed from a single empty space into a network of open spaces of varying character.

The new plans around the Civic Centre complement the existing consent at Wembley City, where development is already underway. Wembley Arena has been fully renovated with the opening of the Arena Square. The first 520 new homes have already been completed and other building work on site advanced.

By September 2013, Quintain will finish the Hilton International Hotel, deliver the new student accommodation, complete the nine screen cinema and open a major new retail core including a designer outlet center.

The regeneration of Wembley is one of the major development projects in London in the early 21st century, as specified in the London Plan published by the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone in 2004. Wembley is a suburb in North West London.
