Spread throughout the top 24 floors of the 33-storey building, the new workplace of the Standard Chartered Bank will serve 4600 staff in 512,854 square feet of space. MBFC sits on a prime 3.55 hectare waterfront site at the heart of Singapore’s new downtown. The tenant-centric design of this purpose-built financial centre combines the best in form and function, making it a key draw for businesses and befitting Singapore’s position as a global financial hub.
The workplace at the MBFC embodies the Woodhead design model for the future workplace. The design lends importance to providing better connectivity to people, allowing for changes in technology and creating a space that will be adaptable for future adjustments. Woodhead has integrated spaces to support alternative work patterns, informal spaces for group collaborations, reflective and quiet zones, effective support spaces and intelligent office branding. Staircases connect floors to allow different departments to interact with each other. Designated business lounges are also featured with an entire floor dedicated to communal space.
The design of this new workplace involved collaboration between Woodhead teams in Singapore, Sydney and Adelaide. Completion is expected by late 2010.
Tower One is the first office tower under Phase 1 to be completed on the prime 3.55ha waterfront site in which, Marina Bay Financial Centre resides.
