Inaugurated on 25 September 2010, the new park-and-ride facility is designed to accommodate 3,000 cars, 6,000 two-wheelers and 450 buses. Visitors to the big event can come and park their vehicles at the new site and take a shuttle service that will run between the airport and the main venue. The new facility is directly connected to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main venue of the games.

The new INR4 billion ($86.6 million) park-and-ride facility is designed to house a public information centre, security chambers, separate waiting hall for public and crew, frisking hall and public convenience units. The facility is installed with CCTV cameras and security equipment. The facility is a temporary structure, which will be removed after the games gets over.

The NDMC also inaugurated three foot over-bridges for the games — one each at Africa Avenue, Park Street and Mother Teresa Crescent. All the three bridges are fitted with escalators and stairs.
