Vast improvements in design and technology have resulted in a complete makeover to the erstwhile noisy cooker hoods, making them an almost iconic fashion statement of the kitchen that is equally striking in both large and minimalist form.
Whirlpool’s Glamour and Fusion ranges of kitchen appliances, now joined by the new Ambient collection, are state-of-the-art cooker hoods that not only look sensational but also claim to perform quietly and efficiently.
The most comprehensive in the range include the company’s renowned 6th Sense technology which performs everything automatically once its ‘6th Sense mode’ is switched on. The sensors automatically detect cooking odours and room air pollutants. The hood is self-set to run at just the right power level for effective extraction and also improves air quality by operating when needed, helping to preserve furniture and furnishings for long. Models with these benefits include the Fusion AKR 891, the Glamour AKR 809 and the new Ambient AKR 799.
The special perimeter aspiration on the AKR 891 Fusion hood absorbs cooking vapours and fumes along the edges of the hood. This allows space and flexibility for an attractive new design, as well as lowering noise levels and making the hood easier to clean. The Glamour AKR 809 is fitted with Whirlpool’s ‘deep silent’ EDS3 system, which offers up to 35% more noise reduction compared to other hoods.
Key benefits of the Glamour AKR 809 Cooker Hood include attractive styling, finished in black mirrored glass for today’s aspirational interiors; touch control user interface with choice of manual mode or 6th Sense mode for clean air quality in the kitchen; advanced, and 6th Sense electronic control with sensors, which automatically senses, adapts and controls, extracting cooking odours automatically and immediately on detection.
The large chimney and unique design of the canopy with sound absorbent internal panels of the EDS3 system optimises airflow, increasing the volume of air taken in while reducing the volume of noise emitted. There are three extraction settings, and an intensive setting.
Noise levels of the equipment are level 1: 50 dB(A), Power level 2: 60 dB(A) and Power level 3: 67 d(B)A. It has recirculation operation with maximum extraction rate of 615 m³/hr.
Halogen lighting generates three times more light in comparison to conventional bulb, with near daylight illumination for preparation lighting. Highly efficient, eight layer dishwasher safe grease filter ensures easy maintenance with 94% grease capture.
