Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games were said to be of Olympic proportions and demanded Lancelot 4000W HTI and Cyrano 2500W HMI followspots from the Robert Juliat range.
Production Resource Group (PRG) supplied eight Lancelots and six Cyranos, with Showtec Communications Pte Ltd of Singapore, providing six Cyranos.
Lighting designer Koert Vermeulen from ACT Lighting Design said that he chose Robert Juliat followspots based on his previous experience with the fixtures and photometrics data.
The opening and closing ceremonies took place at TheFloat@MarinaBay, set against the spectacular backdrop of the Marina Bay and the Marina Bay Sands hotel. At 120m long and 83m wide, TheFloat stage is the world’s largest floating platform upon which 7000 youths performed to an audience of 25,000.
Created by Singaporeans and aimed at the young audience, the show celebrated the aspirations of a young nation and the determination of the young athletes gathered for the Games. A world-class international team of technical experts, including lighting designer, Koert Vermeulen, helped bring the show to life.
