Owned by Tiffany Staver and Patrick Smith, the whole restaurant has been designed around military setting and is located strategically near an army depot. Coming from military families, the owners decided to honour their grandparents by using their dog tags in the design of their business logo and sign.

The restaurant plans to decorate the wall with photos of local individuals who served in the armed forces. The owners are also inviting diners to chip in with their own framed photos and captions. In keeping with the military theme, Staver and Smith both serve customers in camouflage and military fatigues which will become the dress code for future servers employed in the restaurant.

S.S. Mess Hall serves sandwiches, subs, salads, sides, soups, as well as breakfast items and dinner baskets. It will also offer some twists on traditional items.
