The Elektra Bakery project by Greek architectural design firm Studioprototype is a small shop spanning thirty-five square metres, occupying a strategic corner on the main pedestrian high street. The design team has been successful in evolving a rigorous language based on a narrow, linear floor plan. A long marble food counter is integrated to act as a monolithic focal point of the entire spatial arrangement.

The interior of the bakery is flooded with light and luminosity, accentuating the food items on display. Exquisite materials such as Carrara marble, cedar wood and brass serve as the backdrop for all food products. These unique materials are incorporated to infuse the rustic and artisan aspect of making bread.

Clad in vertical cedar boards, the exterior long façade of the shop permeates a sense of craftsmanship. A black powder coated steel window box projects outwards, punctuating the cedar cladding. This element has been designed to enhance the space to serve as a seating area and bar for customers inside and outside the shop.

The interior design is complete with carefully selected furniture by Xavier Pauchard and lights by Tom Dixon.
