Designed by London-based Haworth Tompkins Architects, the three-storey building is part of the second phase of RCA’s new £37 million ($59.8 million) south London campus. It will consolidate all four departments of Fine and Applied Arts as well as start-up workshops for creative businesses.
Spanning 4,750 square metre, the building will also be home to Innovation RCA, the RCA’s knowledge transfer centre and will feature a 225-seat lecture theatre and 250 square meter exhibition gallery.

The project was funded by the Higher Education Funding Council of England that contributed £2.75 million ($4.44 million), the Garfield Weston Foundation, and the James Dyson Foundation which donated £5 million ($8.08 million) for the project.
