Located at 4501 Pine Tree Circle in Vestavia Hills, the office space has been designed to be as natural as possible. The building features two wings which incorporate offices, large open workspaces along with a full kitchen. It is equipped with solar water heating system and an integrated sound system complete with MP3 docking stations.
The firm’s new home has several green features. The exterior is covered with vertical Cypress wood siding, brick, stone and hard coat stucco. The roof system features standing seam metal pitched roofs and TPO membrane flat roofs. The wooded doors and windows of the facility are clad with aluminum, along with storefront and curtain wall systems to bring natural light inside. A portion of the materials used in the construction were either recycled or renewable products.
The site selected for the building was a previously developed parcel in a low lying area. Wet soils were removed from the site and replaced with 100% recycled crushed concrete to provide retention and porosity for the pervious concrete paving system that is used for the parking areas. Significant numbers of native trees were protected during this process.
Stewart Perry Construction is the builder for the project. The entire project has been designed to receive LEED certification from the US Green Building Council.
