Woods Bagot will work with Buro Happold on the project. The work involves building a new terminal, air traffic control tower and a presidential building, as well as reconfiguring and refurbishing the existing terminal.
Consulting firm Arup has already been working with Azerbaijan Airlines to develop the masterplan and design concepts for the airport project.
The airport is located approximately 30km north east of Baku on the outskirts of the city. The upgrade is aimed at accommodating future increased passenger traffic.
