These new four-storey quarters have been under construction for almost 16 months and are the first new quarters to be built on the air station in more than 20 years.

The two towers have been designed with a contemporary appeal with design elements and colour accents lending a home feel. Each building features a large, modern lounge area with three 55” flat-screen TVs, a slate pool table, wireless internet and an eating area with a traditional oven and full-sized fridge. A large laundry facility with high-efficiency washers is also featured next to the lounge area of each building.

Each room can accommodate a maximum of two occupants and feature individual walk-in closets, kitchenettes with a sink, fridge, freezer and microwave, and a private bathroom.

The buildings have also been designed as energy- and water-efficient and cost less to operate and maintain. The quarters are expected to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification from the US Green Building Council.
