The upgrades that need be carried out in the facility include rebuilding a significant amount of area and installing new teaching technology. The revamped auditorium will feature new seating amenities comprising tablet arms to accommodate about 400 students. The building will also incorporate redesigned classroom lighting in addition to installing new carpeting and specially designed acoustical panels.
Refurbishments further include vestibule enhancements consisting of a new heating system and front entry. There will also be smart boards, projectors, drop-down screens, lecture capture software as well as instructional cart resources in the building to facilitate faculty presenters.
The 42-year auditorium will be rebranded as Gate City Bank Auditorium after the completion of refurbishments.
