Almost $2.3 of the project funds will be used for the stadium’s facelift. Renovations will include removal of the crowned field and the natural grass of the existing stadium. The refurbished field will comprise artificial turf. It will be equipped with an advanced press box with some portions of the present stands to be demolished to create a buffer between the field and the seats and rear wall.
The auditorium’s back stage area will house a planned bachelor’s degree programme in theatre after the upgrades. New laboratories will be constructed in the annex of the main building with expansion work conducted in the science laboratories.
Other plans undertaken include providing additional office space for the Lindenwood-Belleville’s employees. Renovations will also include installation of security cameras and Code Blue stations throughout the campus. Further, a new track will be built on the western portion of the campus near its soccer field which will facilitate cross country, lacrosse and field hockey teams.
The project has received about $3.5 million in Lindenwood University funding with the remaining $1.5 million to be financed by Lindenwood-Belleville’s operating budget.
