The new lounge, situated on the arrivals level next to the international arrivals building, is twice the size of the former one and allows room for a computer lab, sleep room as well as a baggage storage area. The revamped lounge is also equipped with various other facilities such as a hospitality desk, photocopying and faxing services by Canon and a TV and movie library.
Other features of the upgraded facility include a snack bar, wireless Internet service by Cisco, unlimited domestic and international VoIP calls by Verizon and Aastra along with ground transportation and lodging assistance services.
The project has been financed by founding sponsor Northrop Grumman, and corporate partners Verizon Business and Cisco. The space was contributed by Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, architectural services for the facility’s design was provided by URS Corporation while Turner Construction provided construction management services.
