The renovated stadium will feature larger seats, bigger scoreboard, ample natural light, new playing surface and a cable-supported retractable roof, which is the largest in the world. The fabric roof section retracts into the centre of the opening, where it is hidden inside of a pod above the video board. Each of the support masts is 47m tall. All together, the structure is like 18 suspension bridges, each around 200 metres long. The new roof is said to be more energy-efficient than the original roof, saving 25% on energy costs.
The retractable seats of the stadium will bring the spectators closer to the pitch. Besides the stadium will have two big and two small screens. About 50 private guest suites are renovated along with introduction of 1,300 premium club seats and two new club lounges. The facelift also includes construction of a mega casino-hotel complex near the stadium.
