The new hotel will be opened in the second half of 2014. The new hotel will be located in the former military base in Manila’s Taguig City’s Fort Bonifacio. Shangri-La intends to build a 60 stories building, which will be a residential, retail and mixed-use business tower.
The hotel has roped in Gary Handel, a US-based architect, for designing the hotel; and Hirsch Bedner Associates for creating interiors of the residences, guestrooms and social spaces of the hotel. The interiors of the Horizon Homes will be undertaken by Manny Samson & Associates.
The architects have designed the tower in a way that in-spite of its contemporary architecture, it looks ageless. The tall tower will give picturesque view of the city below. The design complies with the master plan for the Fort Bonafacio.
The new hotel will have 577 hotel guestrooms, 96 exclusive Horizon Homes and 97 hotel residences. The size of the guestrooms will vary between 45 square meter and 47 square meter for any standard room. The hotel residence will occupy between 90 square meter and 240 square meter.
The Horizon Club of the new hotel will offer several special privileges and amenities to the guest, which will include a lounge offering breakfast and cocktails, express check-in and check-out services, and meeting rooms.
The hotel will have two discreet floors dedicated to the entertainment and dining options for guest with its own direct access to the street. The hotel will have an all-day café, Chinese restaurant, specialty restaurant, poolside bar and barbecue, lobby lounge and an entertainment area.
In addition to these, the hotel will also have many swimming pools, facilities for basketball and boxing, many tennis courts and indoor sports hall. These facilities will occupy two separate floors in the building. Apart from these, the hotel will also have a Spa and a Adventure Zone for children.
The hotel will have about 6800 square meter facility for meeting and banqueting purpose. This area will consist of a junior ballroom, grand ballroom, 14 function rooms, business center, individual teleconferencing room and boardroom.
Hotel Residences and the Horizon Homes will have distinct secure and separate entrances. Horizon Homes will have their own gyms, outdoor pool, lounge, changing facilities and a play area for children. Shangri-La intends to make Horizon Homes available for occupation after June 2012.
