The project has been executed by Gerflor in association with Maber Architects, installer Pinnacle Flooring and Speedo’s design team. Gerflor has installed Sage tiles over an area of 3,000 square metres in the building encompassing three floors. The tile collection offers options of 23 shades and designs with woods, minerals and textiles in beige, fresh blue, grey and marble hues.
Saga Diva White has been fitted in bulk of the areas of the facility while Barma Mystery Saga² tiles adorn the café space. The Diva White tile sports a bright and neutral flavour with flecks in grey tones which matches up with the look of the remaining office decor.
The Saga tiles measure 4.6mm in thickness, with a decorative film surface layer having dimensions of 0.7mm in thickness, a calendered inner layer, as well as a PVC / cork sublayer. The pieces bear a 50 x 50 cm format and are fitted with the help of a tackifier adhesive. This allows easy installation and disassembling of the pieces. Further, presence of a PVC and cork foam backing results in quiet flooring. The structure of the tiles helps withstand the hazards of uneven subfloors and restricts transfer of indentations to the surface.
The tiles installed in the facility are slip- and stain-resistant and are durable. The smooth Protecsol treated surface also makes the tiles low maintenance. Further, application of Sanosol treatment helps it combat bacteria and fungus and makes it non-allergic. The tiles also possess a high level of reclaimed content and can be fully recycled following the end of their lifespan.
