The facility, situated across the former Pilsen unit of the bank, abides by a host of eco-friendly features. The process for building the new unit involved phasing out the existing structure at 1618 W. 18th Street and transforming it into a parking space for customers. Plans are on to recycle atleast 75% of the demolished materials.
The new bank has been equipped with lighting fixtures which reap energy 48% in energy cost cuts externally and 58% internally. It also sports pervious pavers in the driveway which control and filter storm water passing through the brick and into the ground. Installation of a white roof to repel heat and reclaimed materials in the interior adds to the sustainability.
