The authentic Union Jack design was created using a high tech water jet cutter which uses a high velocity mix of water and abrasive particles to slice through the material and produce the triangles and quadrilaterals required. The components were then abutted together and bonded on to a construction board to create a countertop measuring 2m X 1m.

The finishing consists of 80mm deep edge strips with a 3mm pencil round profile in addition to double faced waterfall ends. The end result is a 90cm high structure that is ideal for use in large kitchens, sports clubs, recreational centers or licensed premises. The Union Jack on the countertop is adorned in muted white Cristallino, slate grey and blue steel finishes from Granite’s Trend G recycled glass collection. The collection is made from post-consumer recycled wine, beer and mineral water bottles, with an element of polymer resin for strength and a patented Flexiweb™ backing for flexibility.
