Sands Cotai Centra forms part of the company’s Cotai Strip development program. The new Sands is part of the more than $8 billion investment made by the company to make Macau an international business and leisure tourism destination.
The new tourist destination is a three tower resort developed on the reclaimed strip of land known as Cotai. The resort offers a mix of accommodation, entertainment, dining, retail, gaming and MICE events.
The centerpiece of the resort’s Paradise Gardens is a 16 feet tall, 5,500-pound bronze and gold statue of God of Fortune, which has been designed and created by Professor Sun Jiabin of China. The statue has been installed in a 12,000 square feet, 50 feet tall indoor space featuring gardens, highlighted by cascading waters and natural light.
The resort features a 500 feet overhead sky walker suspended on an inch thick wire. The skywalker is 1700m long and connect Sands Cotai Central to The Venetian Macao.
The project has more than 1800 rooms, of which over 600 rooms and suites will be managed by the Conrad hotel, and more than 1200 rooms will be under Holiday Inn brand.
The property, in future, will also include meeting, convention and retail space as well as several distinctive dining offerings. The company has plans to further develop Sands Cotai Central by adding approximately 4000 rooms and suites under the Sheraton brand name.
