The new swimming pool has been developed by UK-based Kier Construction and measures 50 metres in length. It has been built to meet the requirements of an Olympic standard swimming pool. The swimming pool features a total of 10 lanes. Among its various other elements include a teaching pool and movable floor.
The new pool is just one element of the Hengrove Park Leisure Centre. The centre also offers a host of other amenities which include a learner pool, health and fitness suite and a free weights area, three aerobics studios, a four-court sports hall, café, creche as well as community meeting rooms.
