The 23-storey building of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital is located at 225 East Chicago Avenue in Chicago. The hospital has been built on the campus of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and offers the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family friendly design.

The new Lurie Children’s memorial hospital will feature state-of-the-art medical equipment, family apartments, open-air balconies, and a two-storey indoor park. The hospital was designed by about 20 cultural institutions of Chicago and boasts a family-centric environment, which offers unique healing environments for hospitalized children and their families.

The hospital has 288, spacious single patient rooms featuring a sleeping space for the patient’s accompanion. The patients has been designed to foster maximum clinical care and more space and privacy for the patient’s family.

The hospital includes the Crown Sky Garden which includes real trees and wooden benches. Everything has been designed keeping children in mind, a case in point is a yellow colored, submarine shaped CT scanner. The new children’s hospital also has an outdoor garden.
