The new store of LV shows the designer’s fascination for polka dots pattern. The store features perforated giant lamps, that have been suspended over display tables. The walls, floors and display cabinets feature infinite numbers of bright dots in various sizes. The store has life-sized models of Kusama, dressed up in bright red polka dot dress.
The flooring features red polka dot, which acts as navigator for the store. On the display are number of articles, such as beautiful dotty bags, sunglasses and ready-to-wear, that have also been fashioned in polka dots patterns. These articles have been designed in a collaboration between Kusama and Louis Vuitton.
The designer has also used 24 Selfridges display windows dedicated to the Vuitton & Kusama Collection. Visitors are guided by the red dots along the shop floor leading to the store and a life size, polka dot-clad model of Kusama herself.
The store will remain open till 1 October 2012.
