The landmark development is designed as a totally new community within central London, and will offer nearly 2,000 new homes. It will also feature landscaped gardens, a riverfront walk between Embassy Gardens to Battersea Park, a boutique hotel and new bars and restaurants providing a variety of al fresco spaces, and 130,000 square feet of shopping space. Embassy Gardens will open in 2015.

Embassy Gardens will comprise 1,982 luxury suites, one and two bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses rising to 19 storeys. The design of Embassy Gardens is the result of collaboration between four architectural practices: Terry Farrell and Partners, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and FLACQ/Arup. The neighbourhood is strongly influenced by the architectural style of New York’s meatpacking district and London’s Victorian and Edwardian mansion blocks to create a distinctive style. The most striking feature of the proposed apartment buildings in Embassy Gardens is their variety of style, size and character, which reflects in their building names – Ambassador, Capital and Chancery.

Ballymore, one of the largest private property developers in Europe, has created a unique 5 star resort-style experience for Embassy Gardens residents through 24 hour concierge service and the concept of the ‘EG:LE’ private residents’ club, which will provide hotel style services. Split over three levels, the club will include a hydrotherapy spa along with an indoor/outdoor pool, fully equipped gymnasium and health club, business centre and library, cinema, and yoga studio, as well as a luxurious fully fitted residents’ ‘den’ for everyday use plus private functions. A collaboration with The Inception Group, will also see the creation of two unique bar and restaurant concepts at Embassy Gardens.

Embassy Gardens forms the centrepiece of Nine Elms on the South Bank, master planned by internationally renowned architect, Sir Terry Farrell who describes the area as ‘London’s third city’. Located between Vauxhall in the east and Battersea in the west, Nine Elms is the final part of the development of the South Bank of the River Thames that begins at London Bridge and flows through destinations such as the Oxo Tower restaurant, the Royal Festival Hall, the London Eye, MI5’s headquarters and on to the Battersea Power Station. Nine Elms on the South Bank is the key element of the London Mayor’s development plan and has been designated as Zone 1 by Transport for London. Total investment in the area is expected to amount to £10 billion ($1.6 billion).

Embassy Gardens has been created around the site of the new US Embassy, which itself will open in 2017. It will form a ‘horseshoe’ around this new landmark. The site was particularly chosen for its proximity to Westminster.
