The aquatic center will be named as the Parkview Physicians Group Outdoor Aquatics Center. Post completion, it will feature six 25-foot lap lanes, beach entry with a splash zone play area, toddler pool with a Cascades Discovery Fountain, zip line, snack shop and easy access from both inside and outside the Y facility.
Said to be the only facility of its kind at the various branches of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, the aquatic centre will also include a playground, picnic area, water slide, and climbing wall in the future construction plan.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the aquatic centre was held on 9 October 2012. The centre is scheduled to open in the summer of 2013.
