Sprawling over a 37-acre Stamford Lodge site on the A538 Wilmslow/Altrincham road, the new headquarters of the company will be a two-storey building. The new building will have an area of about 208,000 square feet and will accommodate a fully functioning assembly plant, office, R&D, sales and marketing facility.

The new building will replace Waters’ existing mass spectrometry operations spread over four separate sites in Wythenshawe and Altrincham. The building will have a capacity for 500 employees.

The project is being developed to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards and will not affect the flora-and-fauna of the region. Plans also include construction of a purpose-built bat house, as well as re-planting trees and landscaping the site, which is aimed at improving the wildlife in the area.

The construction of the new Waters Mass Spectrometry Headquarters commenced in May 2012 and is likely to be completed in September 2013.
