Available in both recessed and suspended forms, the range utilises a patented photo luminescent film and unique three layer refractive system to deliver perfectly uniform light distribution. The product quality is further enhanced by a fit and forget 70,000-hour lamp, which allows for maintenance free use for an extended period of time.

Adding yet further to the ranges’ appeal is an Emotion LED version that utilises daylight simulation technology. Operated by an infra-red hand-held controller, the Emotion system allows the light to be dimmed up and down in order to match the natural patterns of daylight. These illumination levels range from a cool white colour temperature of 6,300k to a warm white of 2,800k. In comparison, the standard Planate models offer a constant 5,000k temperature.

Dave Warburton, a Havells Sylvania international marketing manager, commented: “The demand for daylight simulation is growing at a pace, most notably in office and healthcare environments, meaning its incorporation in fluorescent lighting systems is fast becoming commonplace.

“By making this technology available in the new Planate LED range we are ensuring the availability of the most in-demand technology in the very best light source.”

The recessed Planate model, which is available in 600x600mm, 300x300mm and 300x1200mm formats, has an ultra slim design that allows for it to be used in the shallowest of ceiling voids, while the product is quick and easy to install thanks to its plug and play set-up. The suspended version is currently available in a 300x1200mm format.
