The new 12000 square feet addition increases the number of beds by 20 to 148. Upon completion, it will feature a new surgical suite with an endoscopy room and a new surgery waiting area.
There will also be eight progressive care unit beds and 20 private medical/surgical beds placed on the second and third floors of each wing.
Jackie Harms, executive chief officer of MCSO has stated that the hospital’s new private dining area and a renovated car park are complete.
The project is expected to reach full completion by April 2009, according to Harms’ media statements.
