The Duquesne University Athletic Department has announced the renovation plans, which will refurbish the lower level of the A.J. Palumbo Center – a 5,358-seat multi-purpose arena. The project is expected to commence in April this year, and will cover men’s and women’s basketball team’s and volleyball team’s locker rooms.
The renovations, to be funded entirely by private donations, will include relocating the volleyball team’s locker room across the hallway. It will be shifted to the former athletic training room. The corridor leading to the locker rooms will undergo a redesign. The renovation project is aimed at making the best use of the available space.
In 2006, the Palumbo Center underwent major renovations. In addition to resurfacing the basketball court, upgrading video monitors, and replacing some seating sections, the facility was updated and renovated.
