Filum was designed following a unique sign, which pursues the formal continuity between the jamb and profile of the door.
The glass portion is coplanar to the wall, while the aluminium part protrudes.
The jamb is detached from the wall with a minimum thickness, but then joins with the door itself, creating a unique object.
The door can be easily adapted to the environment thanks to its linearity and minimalism.
Brian Sironi, together with the company’s Research and Development Centre, also designed the handle and the relative support.
The proposed solution is found to be thinner compared to the standard found on the market. It is available with glass panels in different finishes and with natural aluminium frame, oxidised bronze, painted white, or anodised black.
ALBED has also patented a new and innovative concept of a wall flush door, Integra, which was designed by its Research and Development Centre.
It is an automatic hinged door with concealed hinges adjustable on three axes, lower draught excluder for better soundproofing, and electrified locks.
The door can be covered from both sides to create a linear effect that will make it almost invisible on the wall.
The structure is made of aluminium, but other materials and finishes can be used depending on the architectural requirements.
Integra can also be made in plasterboard version, which allows for endless customisation possibilities.
It can be provided directly on site, assembled and finished according to the design specifications.
The door is so designed so that any type of handle can be mounted. It also contains various sound-absorbing materials.
Albed will showcase these two products at MADE, the fair dedicated to architecture and the construction industry, which will be held on 2-5 October 2013.
